Van Merksteijn Motorsport
For over 25 years the name Van Merksteijn has been well known within motorsport. Since the mid eighties Peter van Merksteijn in motorsport and after over 10 years of driving rallies at a high level he switched to circuit racing. In 2002, with the allocation of a new Porsche 996 GT3RS he took part in the FIA GT championship with System Force Motorsport, the predecessor of Van Merksteijn Motorsport. Through its determination, knowledge, experience and achievements the team build up a name as an "Italian team with Swiss precision". The last years the focus has been on driving endurance races like the 24 hours of Le Mans, Spa and Daytona.
2008 has been a very successful year for the team which won with the Porsche RS Spyder the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Le Mans Series championship with drivers Peter van Merksteijn, Jos Verstappen and Jeroen Bleekemolen. The team is also active in the World Rally Championship with a Ford Focus WRC for both father and son Peter van Merksteijn. As of 2009 the team focusses purely on driving rallies when it will contest in several rounds of the WRC in Europe and take part in the Dutch Rally Championship with both Focus WRC's.
Van Merksteijn Motorsport offers a full service "Arrive & Drive" rally program to its customers. Apart from the WRC rally activities, the team has 3 group N Mitubishi Evo's available for rent. The preparation, technical support and team management are all taken care of by professional people so our clients can focus on driving the rally.
