Peter van Merksteijn, owner of Van Merksteijn Motorsport, is a versatile racing driver. He had in 2008 a very succesfull year with the Porsche RS Spyder when he won with Jos Verstappen and Jeroen Bleekemolen as first Dutch team ever the 24 hours of Le Mans and realised one of his wishes. He is also competing on the highest level of rallying, the World Rally Championship with a Ford Focus WRC 07.
For 2009 another wish of Peter has come true when he took part in the Dakar 2009 with a BMW X3CC as part of the official BMW factory team of X-Raid. After the Dakar, he has taken part in two rounds of the WRC, Norway and Portugal. For the remainder of the season there are no new rallies planned yet.
