Eddy Chevallier Is the regular co-driver for Peter van Merksteijn jr. in the Ford Focus WRC 06. After Eddy moved to Van Merksteijn Motorsport in the summer of 2007, he has assisted Peter jnr. to win the Dutch rallychampionship group N. The experienced Belgian co-driver worked hard during 2008 to prepare for the WRC events planned for the future with Peter jnr.
Eddy has been involved with rallying for over 20 years and conquered various national and international victories. Multiple Balgian champion with many starts in international events and experienced in the MAN truck with Hans Stacey he took part in the Dakar Rally and won the Trans European Rally. Early 2008 he drove with Francois Duval in the WRC Rally Monte Carlo where he missed the podium by just 1.1 seconds.
In Januart 2009 Eddy and Peter van Merksteijn snr. took part in the Dakar 2009 with a BMW X3CC as part of the official factory team X-Raid. At the end of the 5th day their rally ended suddenly when the BMW X3CC caught fire and burned down.
